Conversions and Casting Optimisation

We specialise in using our unique high strength and large size casting technologies to develop innovative solutions for complex parts. We work with customers to convert fabricated and machined parts to castings, using near net shape design and design for manufacture best practice to reduce the weight and cost of parts.

New Product Introduction

Aeromet uses an industry best practice NPI process for all new parts. Our cross-functional teams bring together all parts of the business to give our customers confidence during development projects.

Simulation

By using the latest computer simulation technology we are able to develop and optimise production methods before any metal is poured. With over 15 years of experience of using design for manufacture principals with Magmasoft® simulation programs, we can reduce uncertainty and costs during development activities.

Quality Control

With full onsite laboratory and testing facilities, we have the tools we need to maintain the highest standards throughout the production process. Each Aeromet site has on-site Penetrant Flaw Detection, Spectrograph and digital X-ray analysis capability.

Case Study.

Aeromet worked with a major civil aircraft OEM to convert a 1.1m long, 1.5m wide part to a single piece casting from a 19 piece fabrication. This conversion reduced the weight of the part by 9kg and reduced unit costs by 60%.

Case Study.

Aeromet worked with a business jet OEM to develop a SOPHIA® casting solution for a 1.5m long aircraft winglet. This solution reduced the cost of the part by 50% compared to the previous machined and fabricated method of production.
